In late 2024 a costume designer for 20th Century Studios contracted us to make a double ring belt for the Bruce Springsteen biopic movie called Deliver Me From Nowhere. Jeremy Allen White(The Bear, Shameless) plays a young Springsteen who adorns the iconic 1970’s classic leather belt in the movie. Subsequently, we were told by the costume designer at 20th Century that he(White) “has worn it on and off the set since filming began.”Since the 2025 movie release, our small workshop has been a bit overwhelmed keeping up with the demand.

Adhering to our father’s original 1972 design & specs, Harry Brulport's handcrafted classic Double Ring Harmess Leather belt stands the test of time. Although other leather workshops of the time were handcrafting these sturdy ring belts, it’s difficult to pinpoint the belt’s origination. Ours continues to stay true to the labor intensive process that Harry envisioned and created . For this reason we chose to stay true to the unique design aspects of the original. The Double Ring belt is currently worn by actors and musicians as well as thousands of teenagers across America. Wildly popular at the time, a generation that we now know as the baby boomers, reshaped America's vision for the future in these belts. We have always felt that ring belts needed to be supple, moldable and improve with age. Wickett & Craig® has not changed their harness leather recipe in over 75 years and our SAUSALITO original full grain Double Ring Belt aims to being the most authentic example of any double ring belt handcrafted today.
Wickett and Craig® harness leather was a perfect choice for the leather and the brass rings are cast in high quality. At 1 1/2" wide, we make the iconic leather belt the original way. The ends are thinned, glued and stitched together using heavy duty thread. Flipping the leather is the labor intensive step. Most reproductions go the easy way and fake the top grain on the bottom side of the leather. Rest assured that our double ring belt is made authentically with no short cuts and built to last a lifetime.

United StatesThe belt itself, and the rebuild, are great. I really like the belt. One bit of advice: When you ship them, especially in winter, wrap them in temperature protective wrap. When mine arrived, it had sat outside my front door in zero degree weather for 5 or 6 hours. When I opened the small box the belt was completely frozen. The leather recovered but the brass loop buckles varnished so badly I am unable to clean them, restore the bright brass look.
