Adhering to our father’s original 1972 design & specs, Harry Brulport's handcrafted classic Double Ring Harmess Leather belt stands the test of time. Although other leather workshops of the time were handcrafting these sturdy ring belts, it’s difficult to pinpoint the belt’s origination. Ours continues to stay true to the labor intensive process that Harry envisioned and created . For this reason we chose to stay true to the unique design aspects of the original. The Double Ring belt is currently worn by actors and musicians as well as thousands of teenagers across America. Wildly popular at the time, a generation that we now know as the baby boomers, reshaped America's vision for the future in these belts. We have always felt that ring belts needed to be supple, moldable and improve with age. Wickett and Craig® harness leather was a perfect choice for the leather and the brass rings are cast in high quality. At 1 1/2" wide, we make the iconic leather belt the original way. The end is thinned, glued and stitched together using heavy duty thread. Flipping the leather is a labor intensive step for us in the shop. Many overseas factories usually just fake the top grain on the bottom side.
Regarding the 21st century reproductions…. I know, and now you do, ...it was not done that way back then.

United StatesThe belt itself, and the rebuild, are great. I really like the belt. One bit of advice: When you ship them, especially in winter, wrap them in temperature protective wrap. When mine arrived, it had sat outside my front door in zero degree weather for 5 or 6 hours. When I opened the small box the belt was completely frozen. The leather recovered but the brass loop buckles varnished so badly I am unable to clean them, restore the bright brass look.
